Pics of work in progress
If anyone cares here a few pics of what I'm working on so far. The door pods are going to be redone because I'm going to construct a new door panel from scratch. The trunk has a long way to go. I'm currently desiging a fiberglass coverboard that will go over everything and it will show more of the amps. The DEQ-30 will appear to float over the amp rack.
Those are 8's in the doors giving you an idea that you will have to build out if you want to go with a midbass in the doors. The kicks are Q-Forms that I had laying around. When the trunk is done I will be going custom kicks. Well anyway here is a link to some pics. There are only six or seven so far.

Again this is just the rough stagesso don't rip it apart yet
It will look great when done. I just had to mount everything to test the wiring and give me something to look at to generate more ideas.
Any comments/questions please post them.

looks pretty neat. id hate to carpet that though. too many corners for me.
Great job on the door panels! That looks sweet. Did you build those out of fiberglass? How did you make them? I am interested in that mod! Let's hear more!
Nice amp rack job too! You are going to make me want to get back into car audio! How do the Alpine's sound in a ported box? I have only run them in sealed boxes.
Keep us posted with more pics! Looks sweet!

Very impressive. I especially like the amp/eq arrangement. Very good creativity without getting corny. When it's done it'll still have that "wow" factor without looking tacky. I'm very impressed by it.

are you fiberglassin it? Love to see some fiberglass cars since im gonna be trying it in my bird hopefully soon. Also use the 4 inch rule if you can see more than 4 inches of wire inside the car then your doing something wrong.

Thanks for the great comments. It's not even close to being done and I'm glad to see you think I'm headed in the right direction. I spent a lot of time this weekend just staring in the trunk. When it's done I want more of the amps to be seen. Each one is 18 inches long and I just like the look of them. I'll suspend the EQ over them so it appears to be floating. Right now I'm leaning towards a one piece cover piece out of fiberglass. I'll keep you updated when I post new progress pics. I want it to look great but like Jim said not corny. It needs to flow with the rest of the car. For example I'm not so sure a big glossy painted fiberglass tub would look that smooth in the trunk. We'll see though.
Jim I'm sure you setup will look better to me than mine does. I think it's kinda like when you go out to eat and what everyone else ordered looks better just because it's not yours. I almost always think my stuff deserves a B and everyone else gets an A.
The 4 inch rule is something I haven't heard of. Actually in my car all you'll see is the wire as it goes into each component so not to worry.
As far as weight goes I do not know. The subs have some weight to them as does the box. Everything else is minimal.
Alpine's sound good ported. I usually go sealed and my other car has more of a SQ system going into it so I'll go sealed there. I wanted a little more kick in this car. After all it's going to have close to 400 HP under the hood. The stereo should be a little abnoxious as well.
The door pods are mostly fiberglass. The main shape was made with MDF and a router. It was wrapped in grill cloth and soaked with resin. I laid two layers of glass out by hand and then finished it off with some lightweight body filler. It is smooth enough to paint. The final door panels will be constructed in a similar way but with an extra layer of mat (not really needed, you could jump on them now with no flex) and some other goodies that I may keep as a surprise. Let's just say this. I give what you are seeing a C+ for a grade and what I'm going to do will get an A.
