got a new eclipse cd head unit. the radio gets great clear reception when the car is off but as soon as i turn the key to the full on position it starts getting static. im using a harness adapter and have the ground wire of the cd player to the same ground the stocker used in the harness. could this be causing it? i never had a problem w/ my old eclipse unit in my old 86 camaro.

 

I would change the ground, it sound like you getting some wierd interferance.

 

run a ground directly to the cars chassy. if that doesn't work, run a new power and ignition to the ignition harness and fuse them both seperately. If you have amplifiers it could be a whole other story.
