Changing Load with 1 sub

If I buy a mono amp, like an MTX 421D, and I use it to run a single 4 ohm sub, is there a way I can increase the load on the amp to 2 ohms so that I can pump more power to the sub?

Not unless it’s a dual voice coil sub.

So if I have an alpine type R which is a dual voice coil, how do I run the wires so that it will draw power from the amp at 2 ohms instead of 4 ohms.
EDIT: Nevermind, figured it out. Positive to positive to positive. Negative to negative to negative.
