i want a deck with decent sound quality but fairly cheap...i was looking at the blaupunkt mp3000....but i havent heard a blaupunkt deck in person before.....i just like the idea of mp3 capable...id like to stay around 150 for the deck.....saying that i can get the pioneer p4500 for only 138 on ebay...so prolly retail for the deck 150-200

aiwa sucks. Stick to the brand name stuff. Even the low end stuff from Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine, etc. sounds just as good as their more expensive stuff.

My next deck will be either an Alpine, Pioneer Premeir, or JCV(digifine of course)

I had the pioneer deh p4400 in my old car and i liked it a lot. With the decent sets of speakers it was plenty loud enough and it did cool things. Flip down face plates are cool and they keep dust out to extend deck life. So there is my contribution, i hope i could help a little.

buck for buck, for me, you can't beat the new JVC decks. Got one for my truck and my car. All the new JVC decks are high power, have the MP3, WMA encoding, CDR,CDRW playback, sirrius ready, have the text, and have really nice clean powerful amps in them....200W total. 3 set of 4v pre amp outs on them too. 5 to 7 band eq's, remotes, and the sub is adjustable from the deck. JVC Arsenal....check them out. And oh yeah they have a 2 year warranty too... $200 for the one in my truck (KD-LH 1000). this deck and two Pioneer 6x9's in cheap walmart bowes, and two alpine s drive 4" 's in the dash and it sounds like so much more.

I agree that JVC's Digifine decks (which I think is what the new Arsenal line is) are great decks. I've got one and I love it. The rest of their stuff still stucks.
I'll sell you my pioneer deck for $60 plus shipping. It is a 4300 series. Has some minor face plate scratches, nothing serious though. I had it in my GN before i bought the new series 6400 with the organic EL display and sub outs.
I third the newer JVC's there was a time I wouldnt touch one if it was given to me.
I have one now and I love it.
it's not even top of the line, but full of features

Pioneer has gone to crap starting with the DEH-P6400. Sorry Robes, just make shore you have a GOOD ground on your amp, or the HU will abject violently. That is the biggest problem with the DEH-P6400, and try to explain to someone how the bad ground on there amp killed there HU.

I'm surprises nobody has mentioned Eclipse here. I just got one last month for $180 and am hoping to update the rest of the system to really see how good it is.

Does Eclipse still have that cool anti theft feature to were you porgram a CD track in it, and if the power is disconnected you have to load that CD first to get it to work?
