problems installing new sony deck...

so i bought a sony minidisk player for my iroc, my original stereo was working fine before i pulled it. there are two wires together in the back of it that one is brown and the other is orange. can anyone tell me what these wires are for? then i have the wiring harness adapter for an easy instal. everything seems to be there but now it wont even power on. any ideas? what color wire is the constant 12 volt lead?

Are the orange and brown wire on the deck or from your car?
I believe the 12V constant is either yellow or red.
I am pretty sure it is yellow.

on my original stereo there is an orange and brown wire towards the left side if youre looking at the back of it. on my new deck i have a yellow wire that is for the constant.

i would just say throw the sony in the trash and get a real head unit . the orange is the 12v constant. it goes to the yellow from the back of the radio. that pair of wires (orange and brown) are for the interior lights. when the door is open or you turn on the dome light, the brown becomes a ground. the orange is always a constant though.
