Radio Problem

There is something wrong with my radio. Whenever I go over a bump or something the radio will get messed up. It sounds like it is searching for a station. To get it to work right again I have to bang the side of it. Does anybody know whats wrong?

Bill

Check all the connections first. If you cant find anything wrong take it to a car stereo place. That's what id do.

I checked all the connections and they seem fine. Instead of taking it to get it fixed i will probably just buy a cd deck. I am just curious though, has anyone else had this kind of problem

Is this the stock deck that came with the car??? My original stock one had the EQ built in and had the same exact problem. I replaced it a while back because of this. I never did figure out what was causing it, but i think it was something internal, cause all connections were nice and tight.

A lot of good brands out there. I myself have a JVC Digifine receiver with 12 disc cahnger in hatch. IMO I would get JVC (as long as its a Digifine), Pioneer, Kenwood. A lot of people say to stay away from Sony though. never had a sony receiver, but from what ive heard nothing but problems. I wish i would of posted here before i bought my Sony Amp, but oh well, Live and learn.

gm /delco headunits are notorious for cold solder joints on the printed circuit boards inside the radio . in simple terms, it is a cracked or loose solder connection.trash the unit if this is the case and buy an aftermarket.
