car broke into, faceplate smashed
My car was broken into tonite. They didnt steal anything they just took the faceplate and smashed it on the ground. I am home from college for the weekend and I was shooting pool with some high school friends at this pool hall. When I come out to go pick up another friend I notice the faceplate is gone. I look around in the car, nothing. I then go back inside to ask my buddies if they could help me find it. As I walk back to the car I step and here crunch, crunch. I look down and theres the faceplate, or wahts left of it. They F******* ran it over or stomped on it.
It was a Kenwood tape deck. Model: KRC-S205
Anyone know if I can get another faceplate or should I just save for a cd player?
Thanks,
matt

same thing happened to my friend, kenwood said no warranty, no exchange.
He bought a new deck, pioneer was his choice.
for $160 you can get a REALLY nice pioneer deck with alot of options. If you do buy a new deck, get a pioneer

Thanks guys. I'll probably get a new cd deck instead of trying to get the faceplate. Found one I really like for $220. I just gotta save now.
Thanks,
Matt

I HATE theives. I despise them. There is no reason to steal ****. None.
My buddy's camaro was broken into a week ago. They stole his CD player (Kenwood) but seemed to run outta time and didn't manage to get the Infiniti Kappa Perfects from his sub box.
He emailed me pics of the hole where the deck we installed once was.
Its sad really.
Grrr and stuff.

I agree. There are many things that you can do to prevent theft.
I always take my faceplate out when I leave my car.
Also, when installing equipment, keep the as out of site as possible.
Don't work on your stereo in public areas.
Try to avoid telling everyone you know how impressive your stereo is.
And probably the best thing of all. Avoid the ol mighty "steal me" stickers.. Them PIONEER POWER and KENWOOD stickers people smear on their rear and front windows.
Ha!
