what can get for $500 thats decent

Alright I need some of you guys to tell me what I can get for $500. I have already decided on the head unit, it’s an Alpine; here is the link for it,
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-RU7r97...sp?i=500CDA9807
I need you guys to come up with speakers (dash 4x6, rear 6x9, and (1) 12" woofer) and an amp.

Alright before you start your journey to find everything, let me tell you how I want it to sound, I’m not a rap listener, so therefore I don’t need so much bass that my whole neighborhood can hear it. I listen to alternative rock and some hard rock. I only want (1) 12" woofer, that’s it. I have an enclosure made of 3/4" MDF made for a 12" woofer. All I need is a decent setup.

I was thinking a RF Power 351M amp it has 175Watt Rms, 0-18db of bass boost, and a remote, This amp only has a low pass filter, so therefore its purely for my woofer. Here’s the link
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-RU7r97...w.asp?i=575351M

Then for dash speaker I was thinking about some Pioneer TS-G4647 4"x6" speakers. They have a 45-22k Hz response and handle 20 watts RMS and 100 peak. That’s plenty enough wattage to be powered by my head unit only, well isn't it? Here’s the link
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-RU7r97...sp?i=130TSG4647

then for rear speaker I was thinking some Kenwood KFC-6969ie 6"x9" speakers, these are 3 way. They have 28-28k Hz response. Handle 55 watts RMS and 220 Peak. If you guys can find a amp that will power the rear speakers also that’s cool, I think I remember someone telling me before that the front speakers should be amped and the rear should not, but leave it to you what to do.
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-RU7r97...sp?i=113KFC6969

if you guys can tell me I’m wasting the money then tell me and try to help me get something better. The max I will spend is 500$ though, that’s not including the head unit so have fun I guess.

500 for a headunit, amp, speakers and a sub is a little too much i think. i say you get the hu and some decent speakers and save up for an amp an a sub.

***not to mention that 500 will go very quickly if you buy from crutchfield.

i wasn't yelling at you i was just saying that i said $500 not including the HU. Didn't mean to sound mean or anything, somtimes it just comes out like that, but for real if its not including the HU would it make a difference?

well for an amp i dont need a 1000 watts, i just need 175 RMS or something of that sort. I need a woofer that can handle the 175RMS also, please recomend me some products that will be good for that kinda budget. ok so think about it $150 for front and rear speakers, that means i will have $350 for a sub and Woofer. The Rockford Fosgate amp i was looking at pushes out 175 watts RMS and has 0-18dB of bass boost. It is only a subwoofer amp, only a low pass filter. It is currently like $220, so if you have something better to recomend i'd say if you do the most i would spend is $280 on an amp alright, that sounds good lets continure, if i have ll that then i have $70 left for a woofer.ok thats not enough for a 12" woofer. so if i add a little extra money i will get maybe $100 for a woofer. So $380 for an Amp/Subwoofer combo. Now if you have some products to reccoment for me i'd be very grateful.

Look at thew screen shot and you can see that i got myself a good deal. But will you please tell me what is wrong with the setup, i dont care if its cheap all i care about is technical stuff that will show its bad. Like responces and stuff.

Shop from ikesound.com

Better prices...

Infinity Kappa 462CFP - $77
Infinity Kappa 692.5I - $99
Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1 D - $133
JBL 600.1 - $190

$505 w/o S&H. Build your own box. Keep in mind, doesn't include cabling, so figure another $100 in misc stuff.

I think that system would sound very nice, with the Alpine deck.

alright now i got a lagid question now. I nknow that the power acoustik shizz was a really cheap way to go, ok now i know that the alpine head unit you cant be rankin on it. So whats cheap about it, I know that rockford fosgate makes decent stuff, and pioneer for speakers, i have no idea what to think; and alpine for speaker, not a clue. Give me some brands to work with here, please criticise these brands for me, but leave the RF amp alone cause i pretty much set my mind hard on it. So that leaves me some 4x6s and6x9s and a 12" subwoofer to work with.

Try to put yourself in my shoes, on a limited budget and just want it to sound great. buit wait, currently i have 2 10" subwoofers encoled in boxes already, see in the pic below,

The only bad side to them is they are a very cheapo brand and a made of paper Cones and play all ranges, they have tweeters built into them. Thats the extra hole in the box. Is it possible for me to use these two enclosures as purely bass subwoofers, but still leave the tweeters connected. They can handle 600watts peak and like 250 RMS so they are well equppied. SO if i can use them for a while until they break or jsut become not good enough. I mean they sound great now i just wanna replace things now and the old speakers are a little staticky on certain songs, my enclosures play them very well not a bit of static. so will that chop of about $130 from the list, so tell me what i could do for some regular speakers, great sounding both pairs at max cost maybe $150 or $175.

Infinity Kappa speakers are seriously sweet.

Match them up with that Alpine head unit, and you'd be set.

Seriously, I just gave you a nice setup for your $500.

alright i'll take your word on it. I'll try those infinity kappas, Since i start work at circuitcity next week, i can use the 50% discount on those infinities and the head unit, it seams like all circuit city sells is infinity. So take all that and divide it by two and you get my price.

Did you know that a 16 year old can make $9.50/hour by selling computers.

Actually, CC has the Infinity Reference line. That's their 'value' line. Still good stuff. If you're going to CC, get teh reference plate 4x6 and 6x9 and Alpine Type R 12" woofers.

You do realize, too, that even with your 50% discount, you're going to pay the same as Ikesound.com. No, wait - more - you'd have sales tax.

yeah i realize that, but my mom doesn't usually like letting me buy stuff off the net and i like that i get it right then when i buy it at a store. plus ikesound.com charges shipping so i would be getting a better or equal deal.

if u read. Hes already got the box...And bass tube? BAh. I also would not go for a 15" or 18" sub. They do not sound good in my opinion....10s are for more puchier bass, I got 12s. They sound good. But 15s or 18s...bah I wouldnt pay 100.00 for 2 18s LOL...It also all depends on what kinda bass music you listen to how fast it is, etc. Good luck Let us know how it works out.

Yeah, I wanted just deep low hard hitting bass. I admit there not anywhere near as tight as a 12" but I wasn't going for SQ I wanted SPL. Oh ikesound.com has 12" kicker comp vr subs for 75 bucks each. Throw in a JBL 600.1 (190 bucks) you get pretty cheap setup. Course then you need a box and cables and stuff. But that would still be pretty cheap for a complete sub system.

ALPINE TYPE R SUBWOOFER! Its cheap by price only, not quality. I know you dont listen to rap, neither do I but some rock songs have some good bass notes and I like to hear the kicker drums like the drummer is right there. The alpine type Rs I hear can take a good beating so you wont thrash it up with years of use on alternative rock. It should last you, and HEY! why not I mean your already geting the alpine head unit, so why not just get both of the same brands so you dont have some mut system (I know, that last line was just a sales pitch lol ) But why not, try it out, if you dont like it, return it, if you bought something else. return that and get the alpine, if you dont like the alpine and cant return it, sell it to me and use my cash to get something else BUT! that wont happen, I figure you will like that one

Why do most ppl think if you have loud subs, your assumed to be a rap listener, I mean sure there might be a majority of rapers that have loud subs but what about ppl like me? I mean.. have you ever played the Disturbed cd Beleive on through some subs like that? Sounds nice, very nice
