This setup ok w/ a 105 Amp Alt.

Hey guys I'm looking to put a 1200w Power Acoustik amp with two Dual Voice Coil Pioneer Premier 12's (TS-W125C/DVC), i just had my alternator rebuilt and i want to know if this setup will work fine with a Durlast Gold 105 alternator w/o the lights dimming when the bass hits.

Thanks for any help you can give me,

Kyle

If you want to play it safe just get a capacitor. I am running a 400 watt amp just pushing one 10 inch and I am using a 4 gauge wire with a 80 amp fuse all the way to the back seats then its dropped to a 8 gauge and I still get the head light dimming thing so I'm getting a cap.

Axle/Gears: factory limited slip
be sure to run thick enough wire
or you will get to much voltage drop @ the amp
alot of amps dont like voltage drop
lol

good luck with your setup buddy

i would upgrade all the power wires under the hood first.

the wire from the alt to the battery and battery ground, and if u still have dimming either upgrade to a higher CCA battery or cap.

yeah, do the underhood wiring before you spend/waste your money on a cap. i've got around 800 watts rms on class AB amps and have not lights dimming. like the previous poster mentioned, run at least 4ga to all the important stuff under the hood (alt, battery, ground).
