im a newb, and wanna show you my system

hey guys, just like the topic says.

Panasonic touch screen cd/mp3
MTX amp powering the pioneer 4x6 and 6x9s
Boss 1600W 2 channel
2.4 farad Pwer Acoustic Capacitor
2 12" Volfenhag 1000W (each) subs

wadda ya think? not too much, but nice, clean, sometimes painful bass, and clean, crisp highs and mids.

Do you have kick pods or do you just have the mids/highs in the factory places?

no, i dont have kick pods.... but i put small resistors on the 4x6s so it takes more bass off em, so i can really juice em with the amp.

and, i dont have any pics of the HU right now... ill take some tonight though and post a bit later.

the volfenhags are awsome... i couldnt be happier. The Boss amp though leaves alot to be desired. it gets hot way to soon, and shuts off to cool down. i guess you get what you pay for... ($100). i like the MTX, but its real old... one of my friends old amps. (i spent too much money to go fast) i plan to replace both amps with rockfrd fosgate units.

i would ditch the cap and buy a better alternator

your current alt just has to charge the cap as well as your own battery, it puts farther strain on it. and it will die. caps are pretty much useless

i agree with getting a better alternator, but "caps are pretty much useless"? where do you get that info from?

nah caps aint useless, They make great paper weights! or if you go shark fishing you can use it as a sinker! Before you upgrade your alt upgrage your wires under the hood, grnd, batt, alt. worked for me. Plus even if you still need a bigger alt the wire upgrade will only help more.
