bridging a dual 4ohm sub

is it safe to bridge a 4 ohm dual voice coil sub? i have a 2 channel 1000 wat amp, and i want to put all the power into one sub and just buy another amp for the other sub... if its possible.

sorry if this is a dumb question, im just trying to work with what i have

This pic is something along the lines of waht i had in mind. Maybe wired differently whatever gives me the 2 or 4 ohm load i need.

You are welcome and good luck.......Just make sure your amp can handle the 2 ohm load when bridged.

when you buy your second amp make sure to set the gains with a DMM so they are exactly the same...or buy amps that can be daisy chained with one gain setting for both.

hmm 2 ohm bridged is no good, my amp would melt.

I would have to have it 4 ohm bridged. or 2 ohm stereo.

Do i have any options?

in my manual it says it puts out hte same power bridged at 4 ohms as it does with 2 ohms, but it doesnt say anything about 2 ohms bridged on the site.

If it doesn't say anything, then that means the amp isn't stable at 2 ohms bridged.

You need to run your subs like this.....
