Which for DVCs?
Ok, Im upgrading my Bazooka EL 12s for (2) Kicker Comp VR12 DVCs. I am now looking for a reasonably priced amp. Should I get a 2 channel and run a channel to each 12,running the coils in parallel on each sub? Or get a mono amp and run all 4 coils in parallel? Also any good suggestions on amps. My friend suggested a $200 Xplod Monochannel, but I know how much yall hate xplod, I dont like them much either... Im trying to stay dedent with the price here as I just bought new subs and am low on the cash...So lets say Under $200 for the amp...Any suggestions?

are they two ohm or four ohm voice coils? Do NOT go with the sony mono block, they are really bad amplifiers. We stopped selling all sony car audio products at work. What do you consider a reasonable price for an amp? I would still go with a mono block, If they are two ohm, I would go with each in parralel to give a one ohm load on each sub, and 2 ohms total. If you want to run a two channel amp it should be a good one, I am not sure what those subs are rated at RMS so I cant give a certain recomendation. Jered

Here are the specs...
Size (IN., CM) : 12, 30.5
Impedance (OHMS) : 2 Ohms DVC
Max Rec Amplifier Power (WATTS PEAK) : 800
Maximum Amplifier Power (WATTS RMS) : 400
Sensitivity (dB 1W/1M) : 86.4
Frequency Response (HZ) : 25-500
Mounting Depth (IN., CM) : 6,15.3
Mounting Hole Diameter (IN., CM) : 10-15/16, 27.8
Min Rec Sealed Box Vol (CU. FT., LITERS) : 1.0, 28.3
Max Rec Sealed Box Vol (CU. FT., LITERS) : 4.6, 130.3
Min Rec Vented Box Vol* (CU. FT., LITERS) : 1.75, 49.6
Max Rec Vented Box Vol* (CU. FT., LITERS) : 2.25, 63.8
I also found another site that had 2 & 4 ohms dvc listed, So I dunno!

ok so your subs are 2ohm each voice coil, Your not going to get an amp that will power the subs really hard for under 200 bucks new. Since they are 2 ohm I would wire them in series to get them up to 4 ohms total for each sub, and then bridge them on a two channel which will then drop you down to 2 ohms total. If you go with a mono block that can take one ohm and stay stable you can wire them in parallel and get 2ohms per sub. Then wire them in series between the subs and get down to one ohm. It really boils down to what you are looking to get out of the subs (bass wise). If I were you I would look around for maybe a year old MTX mono block and run them at 2 ohms, or get a new rockford amp (more than two hundred bucks) and run them at 1 ohms and say goodbye to your ears. if you have two subs, dual two ohm voice coils and you wire them in parralel you will get one ohm for each sub. For the best sound out of the subs I would go with a mono block for each sub. If you wire each sub in series you will get four ohms for each sub. then bridge a two channel and get a two ohm load. Since I really doubt he will find a quality amp that will actually go to one ohm in his price range, I would reccomend a good size two channel and go about it that way. Jered
