Depends on how much power you're going to give it, what kind of sound you're looking for, what type of enclosure you'd prefer, etc.

There isn't like a "perfect sub" or something.

power im going to give it is 200X2 RMS

I want a sub that can hit pretty hard when i want it to...and can play some smooth bass lines...other words...i want it to thump and add nice sound to my system...

Im thinking about doing a sealed box.

Thanks,
DABE

200x2 rms, I'd have to say Type R also....
500x2 rms, I'd say Rockford 12" Power Series DVC....

you can get them online. however, alpine does not authorize online sales i believe, meaning the warrenties are no good. i bought my type r from www.ikesound.com for $130 shipped. best price i've found anywhere. they also have their own one year warrenty on everything they sell, and thats more than good enough for me. great company to deal with

You may have an easier time finding a JL Audio 12w3 (IMO a better sub anyway ) You'll also find that they have more wiring options considering the fact that they come in both dual 4ohm and dual 2ohm models.

Since you're running such low power to the sub, I'd consider something with a high sensitivity rating, such as a Cerwin Vega. But, don't restrict yourself to a DVC sub. Now that you can get subs in 4 or 8 ohm versions, there's really no advantage to having a DVC. In fact, your amp will make more power pushing a 4 ohm bridged load than it would pushing 2 4 ohm coils.

I have some nice DEI dual VC sub,
12" Perfomance series 200watts each $100/pr
10" High Fidelity series 300watts each $140/pr
both are brand new in box dual 4ohm coils, my choice would be the 10", but if you are running 200watts x 2 the 12' would be more eficient. Let me know what you think, I will also post on the classifieds board.
