Ok, my car has the crappy factory Bose radio in it. I want to keep the front kick panel speakers and the rear hatch speakers, but i want to ditch the head unit and add a subwoofer. Is this possible without too much headache?

You can get an aftermarket deck and use a BOSE adaptor to run the speakers and use the deck preouts to an amp for the sub.

why not just keep the locations and replace the speakers all together. and get rid of the bose amps?

Id like to do that but is it possible? What size speakers will go in the kick panels and rear hatch? I want to keep a factory look and don't want to hackk up my interior to run wires under the dash and to the sail panels. I figure since GM already did a nice job of running speaker wires, why not use that stock location.

The BOSE Speaker harness uses a "shared ground" on a couple of the output chanels - your better off replacing the wiring with new stuff if you are going to swap the Bose speakers and amps.

Using an interface seems to be the easiest way to replace the crappy Bose Head unit....... At least you can use all the existing speakers/amps/wiring/sub-boxes !!

Im sorry, i don't know anything about this stuff... whats an interface?

I used a Peripheral interface on both my Camaro's,....... it's a "converter" that reduces the output signal from the aftermarket ( or any Delco ) deck before it reaches the speakers. Just install this thing between the radio & the speaker wiring harness and your ready to rock !!

Ok Guys, i really appreciate all of your help, but i am a total novice when it comes to radio stuff. I want to keep the stock speakers, and add an aftermarket headunit, amp and subwoofer. What parts do i need to do this. I mean what part numbers or items do i need? Also, what cables if any will i need for this?
