Not a "Fun" search

I have a am/fm/cd player from my wifes 91 Camaro RS that won't load the CD's (just keeps "clicking" and won't "seat" the CD). So I did some searching in Denver and found this place called"ISS" that is an "official" Delco radio place ! They won't just fix the problem but WILL (for $315.00) exchange my radio for a "factory reconditioned" same unit ! OUTRAGEOUS !!!!! I can go to "Car Toys" and get a nice "big brand" unit with a lot more power and toys for about half that price !! I would prefer to have a "stock" unit in my 1983 Z28 . Its almost like "Delco" doesn't want us to use their products..Maybe someone else might have some ideas?????I even tried some small independant places that fix radios, but........no such luck !! ANY IDEAS ????????

yup e-bay is you best option. Just keep an eye out.. You have to be a that certian kind of person to want to pay the kind of money needed to get a good working factory CD deck .. (Like me). I got mine off e-bay.. look for one that was made in 1994. that was the last year they where available in the correct style. The style was only made 89-94. 91-92 camaros had one with yellow text on the buttons. and all the others had white text. the newer one has better electronics for the cd system.

*** Ah.. I just noticed you have a Bird.. the task of locating a factory deck just got even harder.. those ones are much harder to locate.

After taking a quick browse on e-bay.. . if you are not completely picky on the correct deck for your car (which by the way is not that attractive). why not look at the line which the birds started using in 1993 - 2000 if you locate a fairly new on it'll play CDr's with out a second thought. I got a 2000 for my mom's 96 Grand Am. playes everything awesome.

Thanks guys...The player is actually for a friend's third gen camaro. He has a pretty clean ride (91-92RS). He should be mounting some 20" chrome irocs in two weeks. I might just have to wash the bird and post some pics of them together. Thanks again for the info.

I have several stereos repaired over the years. A small
mom and pop type will usually do you a better job and not try to bend you over repairing your current deck.

The way you handle those 315.00 guys is NEVER do business with them or let anyone you know do business there. If they want to be stupid then they can go out of business. IMO
