Anyone here still using the older Alpine equipment(7300,7400 series CD players or 3500 series Duo B amplifiers)? I've tried newer pieces from Alpine and others and still come back to the old stuff. It just sounds better to me.

So many good products these days, Alpine gets lost in the mix. I still think thier stuff is decent.

I had an old school 7812 I think, because I saw it on ebay one time and I started to drool.....I remember how functional that stereo was.

I owned one at one point, but it got stolen along with the rest of my car.

Very simple unit, but excellent sound. I'd go with an old school Alpine any day. Infact I would've bought that one of ebay if I had the $50 to waste! I don't want to get started on ebay, I've heard it can become habitual.

Alpine's stuff has gotten cheaper and flashier in order to keep up the sales.

I want a 7909.

I'm still running the same pair of 3547 amps I bought when my car was new(1990) and they just keep on going. I've also got a T-500 driving 2 JL Audio 10 W 0 subs. I had a 7930 but it started having problems. I'm getting ready to install a 7941 I found on ebay that is very similar to the 7930. That deck was great,I'm hoping this one will be as good.

I hope this isn't the case with my 7995 and MVR-450! So far they seem as good as my older Alpine stuff... They've never disappointed me yet!

I still have my MRV-F300 V12 amp. That this will run anything. For a few years I had the front channels running 2 ohm stereo and the rears bridged at 1.5ohms for 2 10W6s. Never put up a fuss during the desert summers.

dude i've been running a 7821 and it sounds as good as my kdc-769 kenwood did and i was amazed that a head unit from 95 had four preouts.
i really dont know much about them past my own experiance my dad actually had it out in a barn and i couldnt afford a new deck so i "settled" for the alpine, figured if my type r ran okay then this would too.
definaltly functional, easiest headunit i've ever tuned. only prob i have with it is that it skips and takes forever to switch tracks and start cd's. anything that i can do about that? it also seems to get VERY hot not so sure about the merits of that,,.
what can you guys tell me about them?
