Ok, what's the difference? I just picked up a pair of Premier 6x9"s, model number TS-929.

Are they better than Pioneer? Longevity? What's the difference??

Pioneer is like Alpine Type S where Premier is like Alpine Type R. Premier is their top notch equipement where pioneer is their base funline equipement. You got some good speakers there man.

Really? I can't seem to find any info on them... but I figure them to be kinda old, as they have paper cone tweeters!

They have two different names for the same reason gm put out trans am and camaro, blazer and jimmy, etc.Basicly the same cars. The guy I buy all my stuff from deals in just premier and alpine. He said there really isn't a difference between the two.I have a pioneer deck and a premier deck and they are the same thing and they cost me the same.

There are differences in the Pioneer and Pioneer Premier decks. The models numbers will be similar, for instance DEH-P8600 is similar to the DEH-P860 with the P860 being the Pioneer Premier model. The Premier version will have some different functions like the Premier model may have a adjustable sub woofer level or sub insertion when the "non-Premier" may still have the output but not the control over the level or control to invert it.

87tpi, what are the model numbers on those two HUs. I can let you know what the difference is.

BTW, if your clever you can make a "non-Premier" into a Premier. It's not better parts, just different parts in different spots.

Figures, there isn't a lot different in those two. Looks like the biggest are some of the displays, the remote they came with(one got the steering wheel remote, one got the card remote), and some extra B+ filtering on the P760. Nothing big. In my defense there is usual more then just those small differences, but even then there's not a lot. It will depend on the level the model falls in.

I picked up the Pioneer DEH-P6600, what would I have gained with the Premier one? I can still return this one! lol

My last radio had Bass, Trebble, Fade, and Balance. This one has all those for each speaker, 3 subs, etc. Plus way too many filters, modifiers, etc.

I think I have it tweaked right, took me 2 weeks of playing with it! And I just found out if you hold the equalizer button there are about a million more advanced menus...

All depends on the model. Some may just have the Premier name stamped on it while other may have big differences. For example a Pioneer DEH-P8600MP has 4v preouts and a 2 way xover. The Premier DEH-P860MP has 6.5v and a 3 way xover. Everything else the same about them.

my premier 900r is completely different on the inside from it's pioneer counterpart down to the gold plated connections if your into that. 2 year instead of 1 year warranty and more features. better all around and well worth the little extra, especially on the high end.

speakers as well as they typically are designed better. it's just a higher end simply put.
