Looking for a powerfull high quolity sub amp, need advice!

Hey everyone,
Well, i need a new amp. I just bought two new polk momo 12" single voice coil about 400-500 watts rms for each. I am looking for a monoblock sub amp to power them between 600 and 1000 watts rms to run them i can always tune a nicer amp down. I want to spend probubly around about 300 dollars willing to change my mind though.

Curently concidering:
-Kenwood Exelon (Found their 919watt one for 250)
-Rockford power series
-PPI
-Penix gold
-Alpine
-JBL
-polk momo
-JL audio

Interested in others but thoes are the good ones i have looked at so foar.

Ive been done a lot of research for all these but im hoping you can let me know if you have ever heard any of these amps and can tell me how they sound quolity/ loud?

Strongly concidereing that exelon, but i can find any reviews about it. cant find anything on the new alpine m501 either, too new? Can anyone here give me somekind of review?

Thanks for all the suggestions!
ELi

JBL 1200.1 would be your best bet for your price range

Well JBL, PG, JL, are some good ones. Let us know either way when you decide and how it sounds...Make sure to tune it to your liking.

I would consider a JL an investment since it will be around forever and it's a very flexable amp. If you can spring for one, you can probably get the 300/1 or the 500/1 Class D, both should have plenty of power.

If you really want to drive those subs to thier full potential, go for the 1000/1. I can't even imagine the power that thing has.

My favorite thing about the JL amps is they have an impedence matching power supply, so you get the same power from 1.5 to 4 ohms impedence. You can also daisy chain them, so you can get a small one now, like the 500/1 and add another 500/1 later. You can also run a HP signal from the amp to your other amps. Most amps have gain, dB boost and x-over......JL have all kinds of adjustments, most people don't even know what to do with them!

I beleive the sound really starts in the amp, so there is no need to skimp on the amp. You can have the best speakers in the world, but they will sound like crap if you use a substandard amp.

well, I decided to go with the kenwood exleon actually. my web has been down for a few days, sry.

So far i can alridy notice a huge difference in clarity and how hard and clean it actually hits. I believe i still have a ton of tuning to do though, i may be back for help on that.

I think i kind of hear what you mean about not hitting the reall low notes. yea do youy guys know anything about the bass extend feature is it supossedly "increases low frequency response 20%" havnt had time to mess aruund with it yet.

also while looking at the manual i notice a few other things i am not farmiliar with or not at least the way the refer to them.

Could you fill me in on what these are and how to tune them.,
-bass center frequency
-bass Q factor
-band reject filter
-infrasonic filter

Thanks for all the help and i just didnt have the money to spend on thoes other amps, and i have heard a lot of good things about this one too. so once all tuning is done i hope to be reall happy with it.

Thanks again,
Eli
