Whats the difference in these 2 other than price? Pioneer cd player

PIONEER PREMIER DEH-P8MP MP3 WMA Receiver

PIONEER PREMIER DEH-P80MP MP3 WMA Receiver

Look the same, have the same features but the 80 costs over $50 more! What the hell? I read features and couldn't find anything diffferent.

I just want to educate myself beforwe I buy an outdated model

the 8 is a premier unit. The 80 is not.

Premiers have more functions for setting up your sound.

If you buy from an authorized dealer the Premier has a two year warranty. I suggest you look into the 860MP instead though. Its alot better. And it's just a little more expensive, but you get alot more.

The premiers are usually better... harder to find, and cost more..

almost no point in getting them, unless you're just one of those people who has to have the best (and you can find better than pioneer anyhow)

sometimes the screens will have slighty different configurations and button layouts are different, but not much really...

I have a non-premiere unit, and I still have:
Auto EQ
Auto TA
13-Band Graphic EQ
"BBE"-- Basically improves bass and treble from MP3's---this actually does make the music sound better, and all I listen to are mp3s so its helps--maybe not so much with regular cds

If you want the best of the best--- I believe Blaupunkt, and Clarion make some super-crazy-filled decks that are amp-less... those typically have much better sound output, and way cooler features.

Certain Premier models have 6.5V preouts versus 4V Pioneer preouts. Not bad for only a little more cash.

I wonder if preamp-out voltage is really everything... because my kenwood used to have 5volt output, and now my new one is 4 or 4.5 I think... I can't tell any difference in that regard.

I dunno, I think that the voltage isn't as big as a deal as everyone says... I had a deck with only 3v before and I can tell no difference accept with my 5volt deck I had to turn the gain all the way down to avoid hearing loss... that was the only difference.
