hey FyreLance...

are those custom rear plastic panels, or what??

I've never seen those before, and I'd love to replace mine... make them higher so I can put more equipment in there.

Is there a special way to install the rear subs? Like do they have to face a certain direction? I don't want to blow my window I have a box with spots for 3 12" subs, but it's flat. Is that good or what?

you won't break your window... the hatch will just vibrate a lot of its not tight.

you will problably never notice the difference if you had the subs slightly facing forwards or just firing straight up... bass is not really that directional... you're probably fine on both issues.

bah if I keep my windows down and play my subs loud,
1) I'll go deaf
2) I'll hear so many damned vibrations, that I'd wish I was deaf

Nope, they are stock, I promise. The box just really flows well with it.

I've never had someone threaten to steal my car before... I'm flattered, lol

Best part about the box is that it still works with my t-tops. http://www.subthump.com/images/camaro/ttop/ttop2.jpg (not my car)

Let's surround him... I'll start from Texas, and you from Florida, he'll have no where to go... probably corner him in Michigan or Maine... I know he's not brave enough to Canada, not with them frenchies up there... haha watch out FyreLance!!

also... you put something between your panels when you store them, right?

I just strap mine in directly above the subs, and they sound great.

When I first got the box I would put a towel between the t-tops, but over time I realized the tops barely moved anyway and now I don't even bother. You just have to be careful placing and removing them.

one time on the way to the coast, I removed them while driving... with two passengers, before my subwoofer... I just swivled them enough to fit them inside, and handed them to the backseat guy... unfortunately that scratched the crappy tint on the inside, plus the t-top tint got scratched...

I have already replaced all my car window tint, next stop is the t-tops...

sounds like you have a sweet setup dude, and you will really enjoy those infiniti 6x9's... they are nice and punchy, but lack overall in bass.. in most cars, but luckily you have assubwoofer so you can just cut out the bass on the kappas and keep on truckin.

get an amp for all your kappas and you're audio experience will change forever.

and me and saigon may have to swing by your house and "check out" your excelon 859... those things rock...

enjoy it bro, while you can!

if I had one of those, I'd pay a ninja to sleep in my car at night, just in case.

do you know what year the model is?

my bro has an '03 f-150 STX with the excelon in it... it rocks but its features lacked when compared to the kdc mp922... which was an '04 model... if you have an '04 excelon you are in for a treat! -- well any year is a treat, but you know what I'm getting at...

I love the excelons, but best buy can't get them, so I had to order the kick *** pioneer I have... I love the 13band graphic eq, and the auto sound tuning microphone... plus the speed-sensitive sound increments... some of the things kenwood lacks....

for what you paid, you definitely got a good deal, but I don't know if I could ever get a headunit off ebay, just because they are so common to have failures and such.... good luck on that, and your kappas...

I think the Kenwood I have is an '03 actually. I have had it for at least a year and the guy that had it before me had had it in his car for a while. This thing is still great though. I love it. Doesn't sound like it has quite as many options.. but still great.

For some reason I have always been reluctant to buy Pioneer. I think its because they sold there stuff at WalMart. I do hear, though, that they have come on strong and make great headunits.

I usually always check ebay when I am going to buy something. Only twice out of more than 100 transactions have I had a problem. Thats less than 2% of the time.. So far I'll keep taking my chances. That includes buying the Trans Am that I now drive

LIGHTNING AUDIO???

i think the only thing they make worth having is their capacitors, because they are cheap, and rating better than many competitors... even though I don't know if they really ARE better...

my old system...

sub was mounted as low as possible - this produced i think what was something like a loudspeaker effect. The carpet over the box ran the length of the interior to the bottom of the back seats so it lookd completely factory. It sounded amazing compared to other systems in fbodies I've heard. People would say, THATS 1 12?!

I'm guessing low 130's.... SUPER CLEAN and deep 1 cubic foot box was originally designed for an infinity perfect but my parents sold the shop instead of placing the infinity minimum order.

ppi2400 amp bridged to 1 ohm - PPI said it would be stable, it was for over 3 years... love ppi

dvc dei studio sub. (same as their comp subs just rated differently - for sound qual).

I had infinity 3 ways in the side pillars and ppi plates up front that were a bit tinny for my taste. Kameleon deck was used because it was the only one with rca in's at the time.
