How do these speakers stack up?

Well, my old Sony headunit is messing up hardcore now... it randomly skips songs and portions of songs, even when the car isn't even on. It only ejects my CDs 30% of the time, the other times I have to kind of wedge my finger in there to pull the CD out.

I'm also getting a rather large paycheck coming up soon and I am allowing myself to spend up to $250 on car audio.

Normally, I would shop online to get the lowest prices for this sort of thing, but since I'm working with a limited budget, something quick, cheap and easy is what I am looking for. However, I would like to get the best sound quality for my money if at all possible.

I've already decided on the Pioneer DEH-2700 as my headunit because it's very simple and easy to use, and it's on sale at my local BestBuy for $100.

Now to the speakers. BestBuy is also having a sale on these Pioneer A6961R 6x9s for $32 a pair. I know these aren't the "best of the best," but for $32, will there be a noticable difference in sound quality over what is essentially a stock stereo system in my TA? Or should I just save my money and keep looking?

Also, I really don't like Pioneer's 4x6s, but BestBuy does sell Kenwood 4675C 4x6s which honestly sound very good to me... definately crisp and clearer than both the comparable Pioneer's and my stock speakers. I think I might pick these up as well, especially if they are on sale. Just wondering if there is some reason I shouldn't go with these 4x6s.

Thanks for the help. I'm looking forward to getting better sound out of these parts!

P.S. - I am really not interested in component systems. Please don't recommend them. Thanks.

Nevermind. I decided not to do this after doing some research (both here and on sites/forums). It seems the general concensus is that coaxials are not the way to go when the highest quality sound is to be achieved.

Thanks anyway though.

True, true... I forgot to mention that I will be putting most of that money that I was going to spend on speakers & a headunit into just the headunit alone now.

$250 for a headunit ought to get me something pretty good, right?

EDIT: After some more research, I've decided on a new Alpine CDA-9847 as my headunit. Everything I've read on it has been positive except for all capital text, which I really could care less about. Anyone have any info to add about this headunit? $200 @ BestBuy.

The higher end Pioneer HU's are good, like the DEH-P6600. I LOVE it! lol

Alpine is great, though I have no experience with them.

Pioneer 6x9's aren't something I have ever been impressed with. I say go for some decent Infinitys or something like that.
