mounting alpine amp

Just got a new alpine amp & it won't fit in the cubby (locking glove box in rear of car) where my current amp is mounted. I was thinking of mounting it on the bottom of my sub box. But I did some searching and came to the conclusion from the threads I read that it's not a good idea.
Why??

Duh! Vibration from the subs. Not good.
The hump, that would be my 2nd choice.
I've seen some members build a 'shelf' over it, so they could still use that area. Which is a good idea.
Thanks for the reply.

Or you could take the cardboard box out and use a real amp rack in there. How big is this amp.....

That cardboard box is a waste of space, and they break if you put too much in the lock box (from experience).

what about under your seat, or to the back of the back seats (if you keep them folded down)

The amp is too big (Alpine MRV-F340) to fit in the locking 'glove box', that is where I mounted the amp I have installed now. It's mounted to a piece of wood.
My seat is powered, no room. Same with the passenger (eventually, anyway).
I know that doughnut spare is almost worthless. It saved me once when I was on my way to have a new tire put on & it blew on the freeway on the way there.

Back of the back seat, I have a kid so I need to actually use it sometimes.
Thanks for all the ideas, I really appreciate it.

Why not mount it in the rear seat?
