yeah I think you can get a 5mp for like $300
only 300ft? when I was at the beach with my 600 watt 4channel, I could easily hear it further than that... now with the nINE.4 it's a great deal louder... plus now my high's are amped... my car is great for the beach or tailgate parties... but I hate the bass in the car, as it rattles everything.

luckily I developed a remote system control device for that very reason...
I rotate my key 3 times to run, then pull it out, and my radio comes on. - or I can do it via my 2-way pager remote. I still need to hook up the wire to my dome light so that it stays on until I get out of the car... but I'm lazy... so right now it just stays on for 5 seconds after I kill the ignition... I like it, feels like a new car.
once my battery gets low, it tries to start the car and run it for 20 minutes, to charge the battery, cycle repeats, radio stays on always, doors locked, keys in-hand.
if it can't start the car, (fail-safe trigger--hood, etc,) then it kills the radio after a few minutes of the low battery warning)
but that's old news.

nah, I just needed to sense the ACC signal, and then the box has two outputs, one to power the radio, and one to ground the remote start, (which also stops the remote start.)
I think the parts are like $30, and it can be installed in like half an hour.

if anyone ever wanted one of those it would be easy to copy the code over, or make it do anything you wanted... like automate locks/windows/ignition... stuff like that
even easier if you already have remote start, automatic windows(like me,) because then you just tap into the activate wires...

Well...thought you guys might want to know what the setup looks like now. Nothing big and the rear sails look like nothing's changed on the outside.
However the fronts do have one noticable difference:

And I have no more spare tire...instead there's this thing in there:

Unfortunately there's some rust that needs to be taken care of down the bottom...but the car is older than me so I'm not too worried.

Hrm, I didn't realize the Q-logics had the tweeter up so high, I thought it was at the bottom of the kicks... how does it all sound?
plus you don't have to get rid of the spare tire! just plan it out first!

The Tweeters: It sounds great to me, very clear highs...I think I need some more umph to the bass though. I found a switch in the box for the amp to adjust the bass signal...so when I get brave, I'll wore that up to a blank spot on my dash (looks like buttons could go there but nothing's there right now except rubber :P ). I like the setup as I can hear my music nice and medium-loud inside the car but you can hardly hear it outside the car, even with the t-top off. However, once you open the door or the trunk, the sound comes pouring out. :-P

Wow, I can't believe u scrapped the entire performance audo thing to put in ole 6x9's - woulda personally just replaced the speakers and added a sub ...
upgraded 4x6's would have given u crisp highs while the 4" or 5" subs would have given u nice mid base...
with that said.. its ur car - and now its like everyone else's with the normal setup

I enjoy my kappa 4x6's!!! I just think he should have upgraded the speakers he had there... that would have been cool in my opinion
and thats just it... my opinion!

I think the kappa 4x6s would sound amazing in the rear, along with a nice set of midbass drivers, hopefully utilizing the stock ported 'enclosure' that came with the performance sound option...
6x9s really lack midbass, it seems, because it's all converted into rattling metal... maybe it it was sealed up back there... that's why I'm so intrigued by that stock subwoofer setup...

Also... if you think the kappas hurt people's ears in the back seat... you have not heard these! the kappas cannot come close to keeping up with how loud and crisp these can go...
When I go to a tailgate party, I fade the deck close to the rear, and crank it... sounds especially amazing with the t-tops off...
I'd roughly estimate that these speakers can take twice the power before they distort, compared to the kappas... I have them wired to a 2 Ohm load right now, which gives them roughly 150... I can pretty much max out the amp and they hardly complain... clearly I never play them that loud, but just for educational purposes...

Too bad these enormous magnets are usless... since I can't play bass through these speakers without going insane... I hate rattles... I'm thinking of building spacers for the 6x9s so that air just rushes out the sides, hopefully stopping rattles...

btw, that black stuff is liquid-gasket... I put it on so I could hopefully stop some of the rattles... NOPE! Just made me angry as hell... I may remove it, but it's not hurting anything, just making a better seal right now...

But I enjoy it so that's what counts for now. The 6x9's sound better than the 4x6's+mini-bass setup.
Sorry to disappoint. :P

In responce to the 6x9 rattle. I know what you mean.. the rattle drove me crazy.. that and every time it would actually move air the sail panel area on the outside of the car would move... I just turned off the bass to all 4 speakers and then I run my subs for the bass. Have a Fully amped car is nice that way. every speaker is amplified.. the 4 in the stock location run on a 4x400rms wat amp (100watt rms per speaker.) and then the subs are running 300watts rms each... plenty for my car the way it sits now lol.) I get rattles from the rear (back hatch) and rattles from the front (that screen in the front near the windshield washer arms.. and the wipers themselves)... one day i will figure out how to stop that....

I guess it's personal preference...
I prefer 320hp, ram air, 4 wheel disc abs, good a/c, non-leaking t-tops, non-rattling panels, and very quiet ride.
also, if you can't get a chick by simply driving one of those, you're doing something VERY wrong.

PERFORMANCE AUDIO
The original performance sterio boxes in the t/a are pretty cool, and are ported, and give you some versitility in the middle of the car, I have a set of them and maybe put my 4/6 infinnity's and a 4-5 in small sub in them, and anybody can put a 6/9 in there, another thing you can do is fiberglass the stock foamy's (6/9 equiped cars) for some better sound.
