pioneer HU technical problem
i have an older deh-p6000r that i bought new a while ago, a couple years later i'm driving down the road and the whole faceplate will go right out and still play audio, well i turned the key off and the thing was still playing! and it seems while pressing buttons the display will "lock up" just wondering if anyone had this problem or know what it might be, aside from this the stereo is mint and way better then the factory delco

Could be bad connection to the faceplate, but more then likely it the ribbon cable to the faceplate. Vary common and the symptoms sound right.
