TPI i assume.. 0-60 should d0 around 5.8 secs - 6.2 secs... AVG is 6 secs... Tell your friend hes a moron.. all hear from 4th genners and ppl say that l98s run 15s stock and 0-60 in 7 secs... man i dont say that the lS1 runs 0-60 in 6 secs and does a 1/4 in the 14s...
EDIT: even a poorly geared l98 (2.77) does 0-60 better then a 6.7.. Or a heavy optioned GTA l98.. only if the car is in tuned... well we are assuming..

well ppl think of 3rd gens as 305s LG4s... SO when they here a L98.. they say its only a 350.. Wouldnt do much any better then a 305 cuz its a 3rd gen from the 80s..... Even tho it runs 2 secs faster then a LG4 in a 1/4

I started a thread in the cars wanted section, but basically I want to know how well a 120k L98 TPI will perform, considered the sensors, alternator, distributor, coil, and spark plugs and wires have been changed.

well on street tires, on the street, 60 takes alittle while to get to if you dont get traction
at the track, i grip REALLY nicely on my street tires... enough so to do a 1.88 60 foot. i never watched my speedo at the track so i am not sure how fast it is, but it goes thru the gears pretty quick. it takes 8.80 seconds to get to 77mph so i assume 60 is around high 5's at the strip
on the street, with my 2800 stall, 60 mph is about 6seconds.. i have to walk it out of first somewhat cuz it will break loose and be slow

id say 5.9-6.1 seconds on average for a stocker 91-92 z28.
a stocker Lt1 will average 5.5-5.7, an ls1 will average 5.2-5.4.

Thanks for the info guys, you rock. I think I'm going to make the switch from Ls1tech to hear, the detail of TPI on this site's the best.

Calm down, Iv'e never ripped a 5.0, some people just think mustangs are the fastest cars there are. I'm not tryin' to start no war, just explaining how knowledgable my friends are about cars.
The high end 5.0's were very good then and now, and matched and beat third gens. The LT1 came out and it surpassed it's ford rival, and then ford switched over to the 4.6l V8, the were completley embarassed by LT1's/LS1's. Most people thing of the stock numbers for 96-02 camaros and mustangs to be the same wrong! The F-body dominated the pony car market in performance(but definately not sales). The new stangs are the fastest ever, the first GT's in 13's, but it took a long time for the 4.6 to evovle to what it is today.

The LT1s were WAY ahead of the GTs in terms of power. On paper the way they were rated from the factory they appeared similar, however IRL, the LT1s put down about 300-310 fwhp straight from the factory, whereas stangs put down their advertised numbers. 240ish I think for the pre-98 ones, then after 98 I think they were rated at 260. Still 40 hp shy of an LT1.
2004 Mustang = 260 HP.
1993 F-body = 300 HP.
Which would you rather own?
Then the LS1 came into the picture and made 40 more hp at it's rear wheels than those GTs did at the FLYWHEEL. LS1s sound like sh*t though
Hence why I will never own one.A 94-95 5.0 stang was slower than it's foxbody counterpart, but imo, slightly faster than the 4.6 that was to take it's place. However it is still the old school 302 that can be worked. The early 4.6s (96-97) were f*cking jokes. 15 second cars.
98+ the SOHC motor that was in the GTs is a decent motor, but it takes alot of work to make it haul.
The cobras, mach 1s and bullit mustangs are a different story however. 4.6 DOHC motors, alot better than the GT's SOHC version. The mach 1s are capable of running high 11s with nothing more than a few bolt-ons and a few hundred pound diet. And you all know about terminator cobras so I won't go into those...
But imo, the GTs a joke. Completely. I've never lost to one that wasn't highly modded, street or strip.
