Where do you t-top guys put your amps? And which ones are good?

Question for all t-top thirdgen owners (which is about 95% of the population, but anyways..) with amps driving their speakers...

OK, so I'm looking into getting an amp along with my 4 new speakers (haven't decided which ones just yet), and I just need to know where you guys physically put these amps? My space in the hatch seems kind of limited since I have to allow for the t-top bag in the way, and I could put it at the bottom in the "pit" but that greatly limits me on overall size, plus I can't put anything on top of it.

So what have you all done for your amp placement?

And also just curious if anyone could throw a few recommendations my way I'd appreciate it. I'm not going super high end and I don't plan to add a subwoofer. I just need a 4-channel amp that'll do the job a little better than my head unit will (which is a nice Alpine, by the way).

i mounted mind in the hatch area on the flat part and my t-top bag goes over it. but if i were to do it again i would mount it in the seat or where the spare tire used to be or on the other side. but with the box and subs back there i have no room to put stuff as it is. if you search my screen name you should see pics of how where i mounted it.

Well spare tire is out since I always keep my spare in my car (I'm just old fashioned I know) and the lock box is out too since I use that all the time...I guess I'm hard to work with huh?

What's this thing with the seat...would you put it under the driver/passenger seat? Interesting...

ya inside the back seat like in the link Gummie posted. the only thing about putting it inside the seat is that it hides the amp i mean if you spend a lot of money on an amp you want to show it off and it doesnt get any attention in the back seat. but the attention could be a bad thing as well b/c the more people that see that stuff the better the chances are of it getting stolen.

I have mine mounted on a rack built to stand over and cover the sub enclosure. My tops don't cause any problems with the amps either. I see you're in Charlotte,NC. If you're interested I'd be glad to let you see it if you'd like.

From: out of my mind; be back in 5 minutes....

Transmission: Completed
Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
I had mounted mine onto the plastic panel at the rear of the trunk well. Probably not the best for getting airflow for cooling, but I never had any problems with it; plus the box (homebuilt to fit) kept it hidden from view.
