question about dist. blocks for power wires

I need to run two amps and I have about 25ft of 2 gauge welding wire to run from the battery to a dist. block. One of the amps(sub amp) has a huge terminal input for the power, something like 2-4 gauge. the other amp(for components) has a smaller terminal, something like 8-10 gauge. I was hoping to run 4 gauge wire from the dist block to both amps but I dont htink I will be able to fit that wire into one of the amps. My question is, is there any dist blocks out there that have something like a 2 gauge input and 4 gauge and 8 gauge output? All the ones I have seen are 4 gauge in and 8 gauge out. I have looked over at partsexpress.com but there is nothing there that I can use. Is there something I can pick up at an electrical store. it doesnt have to be pretty cux its getting hidden in the sail panel where the back speakers use to be. I just need something that works w/o jerry rigging it.

the amps I am using are Kicker KX600.1 and 250.2

It depends on if you want a fused block or not. I personally would get a fused one for peace of mind.

I found quite a few on ebay as well:

Hope that helps.

thank you. quick question though, is it better to add an inline fuse near the battery and not get a fused dist block, or not put an inline fuse and instead get a fused dist block?

run a big fuse under the hood by the battery and run a fused distribution block in the back as well.

The under hood fuse is far more important in my eyes. Fusing by the amps really isn't a necessity unless you don't want to ever pop an amp's fuses, which is a pretty hard feat to accomplish most of the time anyway. The under hood fuse just might save you from a car fire though.

A note on distro blocks: I’m running 2 gauge wire and am using a 0/1 in and 4 gauge out. It’s working/holding up fine.

Sounds good. Now as for fuse rating, I just need to add the value of the 2 fuses in the amps and that is the fuse I need under the hood right?

As long as it doesn't exceed what the wire is capeable of moving, you're correct.

Stinger makes an adaptor that will let a 4ga wire go in an 8ga hole. The part number is S48ADAPT
