I know there was a factory GM cd player, but it was very rare in the 3rd gens... easiest thing I know of is contact your local GM dealer and ask them... they can pull it up pretty easily.

The 16136182 is not a model number. That IS the GM part number, 95% of all GM part numbers are 8 digits. There are a few exceptions though. Go to ACDelco.com they have a part search feature on there put that number in and you might come up with something..... only if it is not discontinued

That is in fact the part number. Just to make sure I called a good friend of mine at a Chevrolet dealership and he confirmed that is the part number. He did say that there are a few around....... But they are for the most part discontinued. I told him to see if he could locate one for me. He said he would I will keep you posted if he finds one.

I don't think that Pontiac had the same radio.

Yeah I'm not sure on that one ?? I guess maybe the Camaro would have had a different look than the Firebird version , Pontiac's light up redish orange so this Part# would be for Pontiacs judging my extra one is the same as my fact. unit. good luck and yes keep us posted.

That is a Pontiac stereo number. The camaro stereo is way different, while the Pontiac radio lights up in red, the one that goes into the camaro has a yellowish white light to it. I'll see if I can get the camaro number just for ****'s and giggles.

I think some of the Delco Theft-Lock units have the capability as long as you have the correct 20 or 21 pin harness. Some of the Pontiac Monsoon decks may also be capable.

Here is the '91 Ac/Delco AM/FM CD-player unit your looking for right from the 1991 Camaro brochure . . .

Part # . . . . . 16171423 (looks very different from the Pontiac version)
RPO code . . . . . U1C
'91 Camaro build numbers . . . . . . 8,208 (vs 86,516 for the AM/FM Cassette with no EQ)

Note; the pre '90 units (they had them too) looked quite different.
Good luck.

Re: Factory CD Player

Hello my name is Jonathon, I recently acquired this stock f-body cd player from a wrecked car. The player is in excellent condition. it works with the stearing wheel controls and its the same exact one as in the picture in the bottom of the post with the gm model no: 16171423. it works perfect and is in excellent condition. the bottons show no wear either (prolly because of the stock steeting controls . Also it comes with the wiring harness and about a foot on the wires. Anyone thats serious with a reasonable offer. please contact me on here or call me at 989-501-0109.
Thanks,
Jonathon
