id say your best bet for original speakers is the junk yard, because i doubt dealerships and stores are gonna stock them. The amp is located underneath the passenger side dash panel

more specifically the amp is to the left of your cruise control module. the cruise control module is the one labled "AC".

no. it is the farthest thing on the left under tha passanger hush pannel. it will be plain steel and will have a big connector on the top with the following wire collors:
lt blue/black
drk blue/wht
black
pink
white
purple
red
ltblue
drkblue
this connection will be at the top of the unit and NOT VISABLE with the hush pannel removed, you will need to pull the unit and allow it to hang by the connector in order to see it. this unit is about 6"X6"X1" if that helps. it is the smallest "amplifier" i have ever seen.if you are still unable to find it i can go snap a picture...
EDIT*well i found a picture of the area, i took the image of my 86 that did not have UQ7 and edited it to explain. here it is:
lt blue/black
drk blue/wht
black
pink
white
purple
red

trying to hunt it down in wrecking yards or pulling yours out? if you are pulling yours i would not mind having another dash mounted "gain" control switch

before you install it test it with an ohm meter. (it is a variable resistance curcuit) to make sure the resistance is a nice gentle steping up and down, without any flatspots or jumps/drops. mine is shot, but i ordered another from houseofcamaro.
