Need help picking out subs

I have plans to get a box for the rear well. The "bottom" part of the box is 26wx13hx11d and the top part of the box measures 40wx4.25hx15.5d (internal measurements). My amp is a rockford fosgate 2 channel 600W amp. What subs should I get and how should I wire them up to the amp? The box has holes for 10in subs.

Like this

Or get 2 4ohm subs and wire them to each channel of the amp seperatly?

And I'm on a tight budget, so money is a factor.

RMS for model 201S

At 4 Ohms 50x2, at 2 Ohms 100x2, or at 4 Ohms 200x1

Here's the amp specs Rockford Fosgate amp model 201S

According to my calculations, the box is @ 2.8 cu feet.

That's a very small amp for subs. If you want to get any kind of output at all, you'll need to try to find a sub with a high sensitivity, which will pretty much rule out every high-escursion sub on the market, which unfortunately, is almost all of them these days.

The sub that comes to mind is the old Cerwin Vega "Vega" series, but those haven't been sold in a few years. If you can find a nice used one, and if you've got the room for the massive ported box it requires, that would be your ticket.

In any case, while you're doing your search, pay attention to the rated sensitivity of the drivers. You should be looking for a 90dB or higher sensitivity rating, but keep in mind also that most of the newer subs that have resonable sensitivity achieve it in a large ported enclosure.

Well right now that amp is bridged and hooked up to a single 10in fosgate sub in a truck style box that sits in the well. And it really thumps hard. I have the opportunity to get a box the will fit into the rear well flush, and holds two 10in subs. I guess what I should have asked is should I just keep my current setup that I am happy with, or should I get the box that sits flush in the well and get two 10in subs that will work with my current amp. Just to piont something out, I only have 4.25 in depth for the subs.
