Well it seems that everything wants to die out at the same time on my car latly. A few days ago my amp and my sub decided to go. So after endless hours of searching, I came across a little sub/amp package.

I am not really hungry for a loud system, just something that will sound great and when that favorite song is on I can blast it so you know what I am listening to a few car links away.

So what is your opnion on this little package

personnally I cant stand Audiobahn. they spend to much money for chrome baskets and not enough on quality components... I have a single 10" type R alpine sub with a Crossfire VR401 amp and it gets plenty loud. sounds great as well. but then Im biased against audiobahn so keep that in mind.

alpine r's are great subs, they have a very tight clean sound and arent super expensive. my friend had two tens and he never had to turn them up past half.

shallow subs

What about these?

Pioneer Electronics - Sound. Vision. Soul

They seem to kinda' help with the space issue we have, but what about their quality? Has anyone used these?

how much you wanna spend? I heard those shallow Pioneers the other day at the local shop. Not to bad, but I started asking about them and they let me take one and mount it in my box in my car hokked to my amp. without changing any of my seettings for the amp or HU they sounded pretty good, but my Typr R was still better. this was in a sealed box with .63 cu. I know its small, but I am just using it temporarly untill I get a sheet of MDF to make a real box next week.

I hav heard some great subs sound crappy in a crappy box, and have heard some crappy subs sound great in a great box. you need to take that into account when you make your decision.

Earlier some one posted thier plans for a kick *** sub enclosure that fits the rear well of our cars. that is what Im making next week. I just hate to be posting others work. here is a link to his thread where he posted them.

1. Are you certain you need new stuff? Have you tested anything?

2. Pioneer makes great HUs. But I would avoid them for amp and subs. You can do beater for the money.

Well I would like to keep everything (sub & amp) under $500. I have seen that box plan a while ago. But I'm after more of a stealth look.

I was thinking of doing a well box, but have it covered, or doing the spare tire box, which is why I was looking at that sub.

Yes I'm sure. My dad tested everything and a guy I work with (Used to install) said its dead.
