your not supposed to mix and match sub woofers. you can but it will sound like ****. best bets is to get another w3 if you can. or better yet just get one jl audio 10w7 and call it a day.

imo i think you should just get some jl W6V2's or if you want to spend less money, get some diamond audio D6's.

I'd look into Resonant Engineering (reaudio.com) as well. They're some pretty good subs and aren't too expensive either. I bought two 15" SE model subs from them and only ran me about $430 for both shipped to my door. I've got a Lanzar Vibe 1200D mono channel amp pushing about 700 watts RMS to each one. Sounds great and loud as heck.

Also look at FI, the original owner of RE (RE was bought out by US Amps) moved on and started FI.
Some very impressive subs.

When it's time for me to finally get a system again, I'm going with the Q series I think.

I had two solo-baric 12 inch L5's each had thier one small square box and one DB 1000watt amp 500hundred to each with capacitor and all the nice wires and those things banged so hard my windows stop rolling up and down had to take the speakers out also for fear of my freakin backhatch window seal to pop. >8) I have L7's now but i have yet to put them in anything. Also the L5's were in my 1999 firechicken but i think its about the same amount of space from the third gens in the rear as that 99 i had. They fit fine almost both fit up top but the boxes were about 1inch to wide to make it so instead of hacking 1/2 inch off each side of each box (to make it look even) i just put one down low in the pocket and the other up top with the amp bolted to the body right beside it. This also helped alot because the sound would bounce up hit the window and bounce out towards your victims..im sorry i mean your carryon

i have a friend that does a car audio business, his own set ups have included tha polk mono subs, which he sold to my to our other friend, and the sound GREAT, but to move up he went to the elemental design sub, he has gone from 1 15', now he has 2 15's and it pounded so loud and clear with the single 15 that it hurt your ear standing outside the window when it was rolled down.

Now that you have a bunch of suggestions from people who have no idea what you're looking for, let me ask you a couple questions.

1. What's your budget?
2. What's your primary goal, sound quality or SPL? Be honest with your answer or you won't be happy with what you buy.
3. What amp will you be using to power the sub(s)?
4. Do you intend to upgrade again soon, or stick with this system for a while?

After you answer those questions maybe somebody can suggest a sub that'll work for you instead of just suggesting the sub they have.

However, if you truely intend to just add this sub to the one you have, none of this crap matters because then the only right answer in that case is another W3.
