I listened to a pair at Best Buy, and fell in love, but want to know how they sound in a thirdgen.....I am running Pioneers front, and back now, with Punch Comp 10's...The Infininty sounded better than all the others I tested that day...Thanks for the opinions..........Tom

I did not care for the plates at Best Buy. Mine didn't even have a price on them. Go into a Car Toys and listen to the Infinity 6412CF 4x6" 2-ways ($79.99). They sound light years better. They are just as crisp, not as harsh, and produce tight clean bass. Listen to the JL Audio TR690TXI 6x9" 3-ways ($129.99) while you're there. They have deeper bass than the Infinity 4x6" 2-ways I listed and they sound OMG together.
But then, these are my ears and not yours. You may like the stuff at Best Buy better. Shop around though and listen to the music and not the employees. You can always take a CD with you to different stores.

Thanks, these were the 6412cf's...I may have called them the wrong name..I thought those were plates...I will check out Car Toys...That is a good price, cuz these were around 90 at best buy. I did install's for years, but it has been awhile.....Hell I could'nt even get an employee to help me me, best buy sucks in that department....Thanks again, Tom

Be forewarned, and I should have said this in my last post, the speakers I named off are deep. You will need to do some mods to get those 4x6" speakers in the dash. I removed the AC/Heater duct that runs underneath the speakers. Even after that I had to dremel the openings up and part of the black plastic that "surronds" the instrument cluster. Don't worry, it won't jack with the cluster or the stability of the dash. Use caution and take your time if you choose these or something with a similar depth.
The JL Audio 6x9's don't need much work to get them to fit. They just need different mounting holes drilled but, they come with a template to help you out. BTW, it will be tight but you can install the grill ring and the grill on them and get them under the sail panel. Just remove the ring that sits on them in the package. It's for a bottom mount setup anyway like you would see in a sedan.
Well worth the trouble to get those 4x6s in. When you said plate, I thought you meant the ones with a tiny speaker and a tweeter mounted into a 4x6 plate. I see now you meant the actual 4x6 speaker.

no mods needed to be done, it fit better on one side compared to the other but i forgot which side, it also sits proud just a bit but when you put the dash pad back on you cant tell.it was tuff getting the screws in but as long as you get two in diagonal to each other so it doesnt move it will be fine.

Re: Infinity Anyone????
I was also thinking about getting infinity's from best buy, but I was going to get the 5.25" instead of 4x6 for the front. Will those fit?

Re: Infinity Anyone????
i run infinity reference series in front and backs...and they sound amazing..i also run 2 12" pioneer subs with my custom box and have a dual 7" touch screen LCD screen and a 1000 watt kenwood amp....i am happy with my system dn the quality is like being front row at a concert when you crank it...crisp n clear.... and no the only thing that will fit in front is the 4x6 and there a tight fit as it is....and as he said putting 2 screws in diagonally is enough and its the left side thats a pain because of the dash and the air/heat ducts...when the dash pad goes on you wont notice a thing....
