anyone have a 15? or 12 l5 or l7?

i am getting a 12 l7 from a buddy but im probably not going to keep it, i am about to buy a 15" alpine type r! which would be absolutely sick but i have no idea about how to go about make a ported box for the well area, i know there is alot of math that goes into calculating how big the port should be and frankly i have no idea where to start. is it even possible for a 15" sub to fit in the well area?

any help is greatly appreciated.

I've got a 15"L7. Haven't installed it in the 3rd gen yet, had it in my oldsmobile before in a ported 4ft^3 box. Very nice sub.

Get the DVD's offered here. They will explain and show you what you need to do in order to optimize your sub. They are great people to work with too.

Re: anyone have a 15? or 12 l5 or l7?

the only good thing about 15 L7's is they have outstanding spl when hooked up right, but if you compare that to a type R, the type R isnt a sq sub itself but it still has better sq then the L7's, its just the type R's are balanced out between sq and spl better. so it wouldnt actually "kill it" but it will get louder if hooked up right and stuck in a good enclosure.
