Re: speaker opinions

any opinions>?

am figuring on these being a higher end then most what you would find at walmart and such.

i have pioneer 2 ways frnt and rear currently and they definetly don't sound to hot.

also should i run these to an amplifier or will a good aftermarket deck suffice?
currently have a 60w4 chnnl alpine in it but, i'm sure those ratings are more like 20 watts in a realistic sense.

if i should run an amp feel free to give me a couple of ideas!

Re: speaker opinions

im running 6.5" infinity reference series in my saturn on an amp and they sound good. urs should be decent on a aftermarket head unit but you will almost always get better sound on an amplifier. if you do want to go with an amp find the rms power for your speakers and find an amp with similar rms power ratings per channel. and remember you get what you pay for in an amp. good luck and hope this helps

Re: speaker opinions

The infinity speakers are excellent. Hook them up so your head unit you currently have. If you ar esatisfied with their sound then you are done. If you want more, I suggest that you get components and amp them. Good Luck

Re: speaker opinions

thats what i gathered from reading reveiws on crutchfield.

any1 know about this older set of boston acoustix just curious, because there prices range from a 70-400$ speaker for new 1s in the 6 by 9 size

i'm pretty sure it's 1 of the lower/mid end speakers but, i highly doubt it will sound half as bad as a real old set of 2 way pioneer 6 by 9s. Either way opinions are appreciated thanks.

just curious thanks guys.

Re: speaker opinions

also in addition the bostons should play louder and the infinity's will be clearer but they distort when loud

Re: speaker opinions

dont use bostons....i swapped mine out for infinity kappas and its a night and day differance. my boston 6x9 and 4x6 plates cost me around 350. my infinity 6x9 and 4x6 plates cost me i think around 275 or 300 and they sound way clearer, more low end sound produced from the 6x9 infinity and way way clearer and sharper!!!!!!!!!

Re: speaker opinions

I have nothing but good to say about Infinity Kappa's as well. I had an old set of 6x9s that I swapped from car to car for a while and have had a few sets of them in my various cars and I love them. Ultra clear, sound good amped and straight off the deck, and are reasonably priced compared to other speakers in the same class.
