I have the jvc the model before this one and love it. I always wanted a built in hard drive and the navigation is a plus. But this unit requires a hook up to the VSS wire and the back up light wire in order for the navigation to work. The link below is a detailed page that explains more about the head unit in detail when you hover the mouse over the picture. Are those wires going to be hell to find?

vss wire will be behind the cluster so its no biggie but the back up light needing to be hooked up i question, but if it really needs it there is a little switch located around the shifter assembly (i think). i think the back up light needing to be hooked up is if you have a rear view camera, that way the screen knows to switch to it, if you dont have that option dont hook it up otherwise u will probably get annoyed everytime u put it in reverse and u have a blue screen
