Voltage slowly goes down?
Hello all. I recently got a more powerful alt (150A) in and yellow top battery for my system. Two 12" JL W6V2 with 1000/1 JL amp. And I noticed while I was sitting in traffic one day it was slowly going down.
When I start my car up I usually have around 16 volts. Then it kept creeping down until maybe 13 volts and thats when I got home. This also happened when I was just sitting in it listen to music (I was idle at the time) at my works parking lot and it was slowly going down. Any idea in why it would be doing this? Usually I have 16 when I don't have my lights on and such and when I turn lights on it goes to 14 and steady. But now it slowly creeps sometimes gets me a little worried.
O ya the voltage did go up when I gunned it whenever I could and it also creeped up slowly.
Car idles at about 10ish and when driving sitting still in traffic it runs at 7.

Re: Voltage slowly goes down?
also the gauges in third gens are to be considered precision but its normal to have a lower voltage at idle because the alt isnt "excited"
