Dash speaker problem

I took out the dash speakers of my 86' z28 (they where shotttt) but they had been changed before and they looked new. so i hooked up and tried to fit a few i fit some 6x6's and "thought" i blew them. so then i got some 4x6's and they sounded good but i turned them up a little (loud enough to hear with the windows down not speaker blowing volume as fars as i know) and now when ever i turn them back up to that voulume they sound terrible like with bass, but anyway i was going to remove them to exchange them but i unhooked them and hooked them back up to show a friend and when i turned them up to that volume they sounded fine again. what do u guys think bad wires, connections what? (i did not u wires that came with speakers)

Re: Dash speaker problem

Could be a couple things. Wired wrong or wires touching metal somewhere. My guess since this has happened with other speakers is there is something wrong with the radio. Try running new wire from the radio to the speakers if your using the factory wiring.

Re: Dash speaker problem

well whatever it is my last radio (came in the car a decently old jensen) it was fine before but when the speaker started haveing problems the radio kinda craped out (i think, it started sounding like it was skipping in all the speakers whenever there was should have been bass) so my friend let me use his fairly expensive kenwood deck that he had in his garage. And with the new deck it the speakers sounded normal so idk (then the did what i posted bout earlier)
