Re: 2 10" in the rear quarter
well i just put insulation around it lol idc man i dont feel like having another system robbed out of my car and also then i have a spot for my t-tops lol but then again you can tell what it looks like with quarter panel over it
p.s. i know what you mean but lm keeping it
IMO if thats your camaro i feel really bad for you. who puts like 22" rims and lambo doors on a camaro and you probebly got a shity speaker system also

Re: 2 10" in the rear quarter
IMO that looks terrible and looks like it would sound terrible, plus you run the risk of overheating them but having them enclosed in the insulation and have the panel over them. Do a search and learn how to make an enclosure with spots for your t-tops.

My only concern is that putting the panel back on you may have some rattling and maybe drowning of the subs, but it is your car so watever.

Re: 2 10" in the rear quarter
yeah it makes it rattle less its not behind the sub its just around them so they dont rattle. they fit fine so it wont catch on fire because its not on them its just around them.
----------
you get more bass sound from it then rattle like s**t

they should be just fine. They wont catch on fire thats for d@mn sure. If your running any more than a 300 watt amp just make sure its well vented. No foam around it.

Re: 2 10" in the rear quarter
I've been around car audio all my life. My dad was a professional installer for years and did many competetions. I've done 2 third gens with him and hes done another 2 by himself. one of the two we did together was in the panel like that. We used to fans built into the panel to help keep air circulating and used alot of sound deadener to keep it from rattling. He built a custom fiberglass box to fit in there (i had no idea how to do fiberglass then). But it was an awesome install and looked beautiful.. We also did 2 10s but there were Rockford hx2s powered off an Rockford power 1000 with a built in fan. It didn't overheat and sounded amazing. But that insulation is very suceptible to heat even around the subs. I'd just be careful and if the amp is in there also, i'd move it, in that small of an area that vibrations from the subs can cause it to damage the board inside. We had the amp mounted in the locking box on the rear driver side. Just a tip.

Re: 2 10" in the rear quarter
Just poking fun at the whole situation. You asked for opinions and then got bent out of shape when they were offered. IMO I like the idea of a sub down in that spot, but it does look a bit "ghetto" for lack of a better word. If it was cleaned up a bit I'm sure it would actually look nice. To show I'm not just picking on you, I don't care for 22" rims on 3rd gens either but he took the time to make it look nice to him and others who do. The other guy didn't ask for opinions so I won't bash him. Basically my point is to take the critiques from people and improve on your original design. Effort is far more valuable than any amount of money anyone can throw at a car.

okay im not in the middle of this at all but i got like 2 things to say really quick. your subs look like crap sitting next to insulation HOWEVER, they wont get stolen and im sure they sound good. iluvmy89, i think your mistaken a CAMARO for a CADILLAC. camaros should not run 22's.. its embarrasing to our world.. and the lambo doors.. they look... eh. this isnt an rx7 or an s13 or 3000z. its a camaro. its our modern day muscle. not a ghetto p.o.s

Everyone has to start somewhere. My first "system" was put together with Pyramid $hit I bought at a pawn shop and put together with lamp cord and wire nuts...that was nearly 20 years ago.

Re: 2 10" in the rear quarter
blkfirebird91,
use something to cover the foam. If you're on a tight budget, try using some 3/4" particle board. You can get a huge sheet at HomeDepot for around $20. Cut it to fit the area and mount the speakers to it that way you'd have a much cleaner appearance. Nobody will care what's underneath. While you're at HomeDepot, pick up some of that peel n' seal to help with your rattles. Does that make sense or help?
ILUVMY89,
Have you every heard of the phrase "clean up your own backyard first"? When you begin to criticize him in the manner you did, and then did again, and again, you open the door to be criticized yourself. 22" rims are to big for 3rd gens. They are not proportional to the rest of the car. But its your car and as long as you're happy then that's fine. But one word of advice, "punctuation"-use it! One gigantic run-on sentence of misspelled words makes you appear illiterate.

Dude why would you do that to a third gen 22s what the hell. Looks like you could enter a monster truck compatition. As for the subs in the insulation if thats what you can afford then make the best of it. As for the monster truck with lambo doors i wouldnt say much.

**** heads like to give some bs as posts like iluvmy89 and a couple others, they just open their mouths and let em flap.
Notice some people came through with good well put together posts advising the OP with their opinions. He took them well like most people take good criticism.
Good brainstorm, think up some better ways to make your idea more professional and your set, THOUGH no one is going to SEE the "ghetto" job you did any way and since it doesnt rattle and wont catch fire it really doesnt matter now does it?
But those 22's lambo doors and ugly hood macco paint job people will see coming a mile away and even dudes in the hood will laugh, true g's know you pimp a caddy like that and have the camaro as the sleep to take peoples money but I guess your just not a true g now are you?
Rockjay your advice is very true yet had me crackin up thinking about driving through east orange at 8pm in my camaro BLARING my subs at a stop light...the whole hood was looking at my *** like wtf is he doin here!
