My friend's friend has a Bazooka Bass sub in her Oldsmo Alero, and I was thinking one of them would fit nice in my 87 Camaro trunk...
Has anyone else used Bazooka? They seem reasonable priced, I'm not looking for wild stuff, just something that bumps, lol.

I had an 8 inch self-amplified bass tube in the well in my first firebird back in 1994. The Firebird was an 89 and it fit perfect. Sounded awesome resonating off the big glass rear hatch. I have Bazooka subs in my everyday cherokee now and love them. They are 5 years old and still sound great!

My GTA had one in it when I bought the car & I've left it in.

A bit "muddy" sounding if you are used to GOOD sound systems, but not real bad, if you don't try to get HARD DEEP BASS.

I've had a Bazooka RS 10" in the back of my GTA for the last eight or nine years now. It produces pretty good bass.

I had the Bazooka 10" in my 92 RS and switched it to the Vette. Sounded good. Not too much and doesn't scream attention like some people with too much bass. I will be getting another one for my IROC since I no longer have the vette and sold it with the car.

I had a pair of the 8" tubes in my old monza and with a little tweaking I managed to rattle a window out of track. But currently I have a set of bazooka 10's in my 92 with a 1200w amp powering them and I have the bass turned way down and the can still overpower the other 10 speakers that are on a 1800w amp. For fun at work there was a bunch of guys showing off stereo systems and I turned the bass from 3/12 to 6/12 and the pre amp from 6/24 to 20/24 and set off car alarms for a good 50ft. But I have a tuned box and alot of experience in spl/sql competition and the guys in the parking lot had at best circuit city/best buy systems.

Cool cool, yeahh like I said I'm not really lookin for somethin other people can hear, that's kinda obnoxious to me, lol. Just something that bumps.

My stereo is like a 100 times louder on the inside and I still have not used dynamat. It all comes down to how you have your speakers aimed and also how much time are you willing to spend chasing down rattles. I had to put rubber bushing on my tail lights to keep them from rattling and now I have to re tighten and chase down more interior rattles (driving me crazy).

I've got the cheapest 8" powered bazooka you can buy (40 watts I think) in my Corvette.

It's "ok" but you can't hear / feel it with the T-tops off or windows down.

My advice is to get the biggest powered one you can buy (100 or 200 watts I think) or buy an unpowered bazooka and power it with a aftermarket 200-300 watt amp.
