94 Camaro constant hot wire to radio
94 Camaro constant hot wire to radio
First, I'd like to thank JT for helping me with the computer problem I had with posting on this forum. I'm by no means a computer whiz.
Now my problem with the Camaro: The radio stopped working. I've checked the fuses on the drivers side dash, the fuses under the hood and the fusible links next to the battery. All were found to be good. I pulled the radio and found that the 12v to the (Orange) constant hot wire to the radio is dead. I do have 12v to the (yellow) wire when the ignition is in the on position. My questions are; Where does the (Orange) constant hot wire get its power from under the dash? Is there a fuse, relay or circuit breaker that I've missed somewhere? Also, I've noticed that the interior lights no longer work. Is this possibly related to the radio problem? Any help that the members can give me would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance, dvers

i found this pinout for you,
The best thing you can do is chase it down and see where it goes :/
Did you test the wire with a meter?

Just a 12v test light, and it's dead, ignition on or off. Think I'll try a continuity tester next. I just thought that maybe someone might have had this same problem with that wire on their Camaro.

rough, don't know if you got that reply about the orange wire being the illumination wire but here it is again:
The only way that the radio plays is if I apply 12v to the wire to the radio where the orange wire would have gone.
