Re: My new (planned out) system
I dont know if you did your homework, or if you blindly stumbled into it, but that Amp and Sub combo, at least power-ability-wise, work together rather well (at least on paper). I do have this issue with non-brand name gear, tho, so I'd be telling you to go spend some real money on an amp. The system that, hopefully, lands in my '91 RS Vert come spring is going to have $500 sunk into the two subs alone.
I've used that power wire a lot, and really like it...very soft, and copper, which is handy too. Some of the crap the big box stores try to pawn is copper and another alloy that resembles stainless.
I'd pass on the JVC head unit, but thats just me...having two crap the bed in a row soured me on the brand. YMMV.
As for dash speakers...I havent done mine yet, but I cant imagine they're that hard. You have a very limited space to work with tho, so I'd suggest taking the dash off first, and measuring the stockers...then going out and buying speakers to fit.

Re: My new (planned out) system
not hard to do speakers in the sail panels or the dash. i'd say get a different amp, boss is not good and those alpine type R's are top of the line. you would want a goooood amp for those. also those subs are really deep, i'm not sure if you can buy a box to fit them and give enough airspace, you'll have to build your own. if you want to buy more, get a headunit with 6 outputs (left front, right front, left rear, right rear, sub left, sub right) then add a 4 channel amp to drive your speakers, as well as your 2 channel amp for the subs. also you may want to add a capacitor like a 1 farad or so to keep your lights from dimming on hard bass notes.

Yeah, I think i may search the local craigslist or ask a friend who's into radios.
I would love an alpine amp, but damn...
Another other high end amps that would be sufficient?
And no, I am in love with JVC right now. not sure why. Maybe its the iPhone hookup.

Re: My new (planned out) system
Don't forget in your pricing you will need a wiring harness, antenna adapter, and dash kit/bezel.
Go to crutchfield.com and build a system there. You will get the above parts for free, plus free shipping on most items.
A 1000W amp for $70 should be a flag that it isn't a good unit.

Re: My new (planned out) system
I tried to put 6 1/2" Pioneers in my dash. The right one fit fine, but on the driver's side it hung down too low and hit the gauge assembly... so I did a little reversible "customization".
