Help ID This Radio! (Pics Inside)
Picked up this radio at the junkyard this past weekend for 14 bucks and some change. Have not tested it yet but it appears to be in great condition. With a little cleaning I think it should work great. Believe it was pulled from an '88 SC that was pretty clean on the inside. I was wondering if this would be factory in my '87 IROC and if it is desirable at all.

This radio is just the standard AM/FM Delco system with seek and scan, extended range sound system, and digital clock. I know, sounds fancy, but keep in mind, this was the base radio. The better ones are either Delco two's, or Delco/Boses.

By standard I mean yes, these were standard in Camaros, and it will go right in if you want to put it in your Camaro.

it's a pretty decent radio-found as stock in many '85-89
camaros and in astros and s-10s etc. up to around 1997.
There were a couple radios above this one for the years
mentioned, the top of the line ones with music search
use the blaupunkt tape transport which is one of the
best ever made

Yep, they are pretty common, I picked up the newer version instead when hunting for a good looking cassette radio a few weeks ago. I am looking for a better quality one found in 4th gens but no luck yet.
Keep an eye out for stock factory radios! I remember when getting my 3rd gen seeing a stock yellow wiring cd player in a 3rd gen in a yard when I havent started learning about rare parts, Would of made a killing if I would of pulled it and knew what it was worth back in the day.
Also found a pic of my yard pic radio.
Got tired of how ugly my aftermarket unit was and decided to get a cassette unit since I have a cassette to mp3 adapter.

Re: Help ID This Radio! (Pics Inside)
Yeah, in my opinion nothing looks better than a factory radio in these cars. Aftermarkets just don't come close. I'll be headed back out to the junkyards this weekend and will be on the lookout for more. Is there one radio that is the "Holy Grail" of all thirdgen radios?
