Sub Wont Work?
Ive got a '88 Corvette and although it originally came with the delco/bose setup a previous owner had already reaplaced everything and also installed 2 Alpine amps and a 10 in Kicker sub. I took the car to besy buy to have a new Kenwood deck installed. He didnt like the way things were wired before(kinda crappy work with nothing labeled) so he completely did the wiring but after everything was finished the sub wouldnt work anymore. THis was like 6 hrs later so he said I should pull the sub outta the box and make sure its hooked up properly. I went home and did that and the sub still wouldnt work so I just bought a new kicker 10 in and hooked it up the same way although it still wouldnt work. I even had a friend double check the wiring. I didnt get a chance to take it back to best buy as I am now in Germany and my cars on the way. Any suggestions as to what to check? And yes the sub is plugged into the amps and the amps have been checked and are working fine.

sounds like the installer may not have done the wiring right. does the amp turn on at all? does it go into protection mode? if you've got a spare (and known to work) amp, try hooking that in place and see if there are any changes. if not, they definitely messed something up prior.
if the amp does not turn on, check to see if +12v is coming through the remote turn on lead, +12v coming in the power, and that there's a good ground
make sure the pre-outs on the headunit are turn on and check their levels

The amp is coming on-not sure if its in a protection mode or not. They ran new wiring from my deck as well as to the amps and the sub. He said before that the amps didnt look like they were even hooked up before but at least one of them had to be since the sub worked before. Damn this sucks-I feel like I paid them for nothing when the whole point was to hook my sub up. Anyways not much I can do now since Im in Germany and my cars on the way. They did say Besy Buy has a lifetime guarantee on their installs so hopefully I can get something taken care of.

Sounds like he didn't hook up the RCAs. And yes, BB covers their labor for the life of the install as long as you don't get in there and jack with their work.
