1982 Front speaker depth ???

1982 Front speaker depth ???

Hey fellas im restoring my 1982 trans am and am planning on putting a system in it. I really would like to put a set of Diamond Audio s400s component speakers in the dash area but am not sure if i can make these fit? Here is what i copied and pasted off a website so is there any way i can make these fit ? I had these in my truck before and they sound amazing!

They should fit. The depth is fine but you may have to cut the metal mounting plate to make the 4.5" comp. fit in the 4x6 opening.

Not a big deal...maybe make a mounting plate out of MDF to fit the speaker and tweeter.

They will fit luckily enough a friend of mine still had my old ones i sold him and he brought the speaker over so i could test it out i will have to make a mounting bracket and cut some of the plastic away on the driver side, but the passanger side will fit nicely! Im going to flush mount the tweeters in the dash like i did when i first had the car.
