What Is A Good 6.5" Component System?

I am trying to get some opinions out there as to what a good 6.5" component set would be.

I was looking at these rockford fosgates:

What is everyone's personal opinion here on what a good component system is and what makes it stand out to you better than the rest? I am looking for something that packs a punch in the low frequency range.

Hard question to answer as everyone's ear and listening preference are different. Best thing is to go to a store and test out some speakers. Some people like a detailed sound where others prefer more laid back vocals.

Hybrid audio Imagine series speakers are very popular. One of the best comp sets our there for under $400.

Also, the JBL 608 have some really good reviews on the car audio forums. The tweeters work best off axis while the midbass is very strong on these. The 608's were installed in a "world champion" car a few years back!!

You can find them cheaper on ebay.

budget's a huuuuuge part of the answer here, along with what you've got for hardware in the rest of the system. how much are you looking to spend? how are you planning to power them? I had good luck with crystal components, but would not hesitate to look at the PPI (rebadged ADS), alpines, mb quarts, or even blaupunct (don't laugh too hard) if you're looking to stay under $150. if you've got more, there's a ton more out there: hybrid, focal, hertz. or, if you've got some good processing power, build your own component kits. dayton audio makes some good stuff to play with at cheap prices

Yes I probably should've mentioned my budget. I am looking to spend no more than $100 - $150. Let us not rule out places like ebay and amazon where a pair of $300 MSRP speakers can be had for $100.

What do you think of the Rockford Fosgates I posted?

a few under the $150 range:
-pioneer ts-d720c
-phoenix gold RDS65cs
-ppi 356cs

all have gotten pretty good reviews as budget sets and deals pop up sometimes pushing these below $100. I would not normally go lower than $100 for a component set unless its an uber-sellout deal; just too much to the parts to be of quality build and still make money

Searched those model numbers.

The PG's I can't seem to dig anything up on not even a picture and def can't find them for sale anywhere.

The PP's I onyl got a couple of hits on none under $200 but the Pioneers look promising and they are going on Amazon for $115. Look's like the crossovers are even small enough to conceal down inside the sail panels. These are probably the ones I will end up going with.

where can you still find the ppi 356cs for under 150? I must know ? if you know anyplaces those speakers are amazing for the price I blew a set a few months back in my civic and called ppi and they dont make them any more they replaced them with there new 400 3 way set. That sound horrible. Those ppi 365cs are so smooth and have a nice amount of midbass.
