Need audio help
I know nothing of car audio, and the kid before me has a Bazooka tube wired in. Thanks to the search feature I now know I have I think...4x6's in dash and 4x6's in sails and 2 5 inch subs in sails right? I have the "Premium Sound system".
My right rear speaker blew, and I figured I'd just replace everything. After some more reading this justs get complicated with stuff called crossovers and 3 channel whatevers and stuff. I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to audio...anyone able to just make it simple for me? Just want replacement speakers and subs that will sound good. I have a crappy Jenson deck in right now, btw. It says it's 200 watts. I am pretty good with electricity, just never done audio work aside from wiring in a radio to my 95 Escort. That's pretty much the extent of my knowledge for sound systems

I got my info from https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/car-...nd-system.html
What is the point of a Premium sound system then? Other sites have said I have the 6 speaker setup as well...

Removed passenger, nothing. with my radio on I only hear audio from the sails and dash. Granted the kid before me could have taken things out or something I guess...

Re: Need audio help
I had read on this very forum that if it has the Gain slide bar and RPO codes it has it, and that the Camaros had the Boss setup while Firebirds had the amp setup...and you drive a Camaro, I drive a Firebird. So....

Re: Need audio help
Okay so this is what i did
I bought Alpine Type S 4x6's for the dash and rear pillars. Easy install. The wires that are already hooked to the stock speakers and hook them to the new ones. Then take the screws and brackets you get with the speakers and use those to hook the new speaker to the factory speaker box. Theyre 3 way speakers with a movable tweeter. Next for the pillars,i bought 2 Legacy Midbass 6 1/2 inch subs. you gotta cut the hole a little bit bigger by hand. Not too hard. you MIGHT have to sacrifice the air hole though. Hook those to the stock wire too. These subs should come with screws and brackets also. Get an aftermarket stereo. On mine i have it set so the back speakers get more power. And i have 2 10inch MTX subs in the back of mine. heres some pics

Re: Need audio help
I read reviews online cuz my bud said to get Alpine Type Rs and only S will fit and people said the S isn't worth the money. How do they sound?
