rear quarter box?
Looking to remove my big wooden box in the middle of my well and figure out some way to fiberglass 10" sub boxes into each rear well. Looking to see if anyone else has done this.

I plan on doing this in the passenger side where the spare would go. I have a Kenwood shallow mount sub to fit in that area.

Re: rear quarter box?
I'm actually building one right now in my passenger side well. I noticed the panel was cracked so i yanked it out. I formed my fiberglass mold last night and i'm going to pop it out today when i get out of work. It's about 1.5 cubic feet and it will house a kenwood 10. I intend to mold the enclosure to the factory panel for a factory looking finish. I'm not big on gawdy stereo systems, but then again - nothing looks worse than a 12 in a best buy box sitting on a back seat.

Re: rear quarter box?
I fit a 12 inch normal sub (not a shallow mount one) with correct volume in the tire well. It's not super pretty, but it's hidden, doesn't rattle, and can be removed at any time. I tried getting a DVC sub in, but was too deep (it's recommended to have 1 in min clearance behind speaker). My very uninformative post is here https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/car-...ects-tire.html.
You might be able to get a smaller speaker like a 10 or 8 in the driver side, but it'll take some finesse. Honestly, with one 12, and good and properly speakers in the rest of the car, you don't need 2 subs. IMHO of course.
