Re: My 1990 Pontiac Firebird SUBS set up.

It was simple enough. I just cut the plywood to the dimensions I needed, then cut the holes for the subs. The carpet was an $10.00 rug from the dollar store. I cut the carpet folded it under and stapled it to the board and used the remaining to cover the rest of the trunk. I put my subs in screwed them and the board down and voila! Cost me $10.00 and about 45 minutes to do it and it looks and sounds great(:

Re: My 1990 Pontiac Firebird SUBS set up.

looks pretty good after engine work I'm going to lay automotive black carpet from walmart over my sub box down the back of the rear seats. Heck I'm even going to temporarily cover my dash in it till I can get a nice dash pad, those cracks annoy me to no end

Haha I know what you mean. After I paint her I am going to buy some automotive carpet from the local automotive upholstry and redo the whole interior black.

Doesn't it shift around as you are driving? What holds it in place?

Re: My 1990 Pontiac Firebird SUBS set up.

No it doesn't shift around at all. We cat it just the right size that it fits very tightly into the space back there. We do have a few screws holding it to the car but other that that it fits tightly enough it does not move at all.

Re: My 1990 Pontiac Firebird SUBS set up.

Either it holds itself in place, or you screwed it to something. You can't have it both ways.

What did you screw it into?

Can you post up the dimensions you cut?

Lol well at first it just held itself in place but we added the screws for security. And we put 3 screws into it and we screwed it to the metal hump thats in the trunk. And yea I'll get the exact dimensions from my dad and ill post em on here.

Re: My 1990 Pontiac Firebird SUBS set up.

For the plans, I thank you.
For putting screws through your sheet metal, I want to thump your sack.
Respect your ride.
In 20 years you are going to either:
1. Wish you had never sold the car (you will, believe this).
2. Try to figure out how to get the holes filled in.

I miss my 1981 305 Camaro (it was a piece of ****, but I miss it so bad).
I miss my 1995 Honda delSol too. Twin babies didn't fit well in it.
