Hello all,

This may a be totally dumb idea, but is there any benefit to angling the 6x9 speakers in the rear sail panels towards the driver/passenger? I know it can't be much, but I thought even a little would help. I'd still want it to look like a factory install. Just seems like when they are facing each other they cancel some sound out. Looking for a free or cheap way to improve sound quality.

It will not make an audible difference.

If want some cheap help, put some egg shell foam or dynamat (Lowes brand) behind the 6 x 9's.

Wow that's a great idea! I did a google search and it seems like a good product thats very reasonably priced. I can do the whole car for what that costs!

Have any more tips for the low buget ride?

Check fluids often, change oil & oil filter regularly, keep tires properly inflated,
rotate them about every 3 or 4 oil changes, change trans fluid every other tire
rotation, check air filter every other oil change, keep the car clean inside & out every chance you get, flush cooling 2 times a year, check suspension a few times a year-- a clean, running car makes the owner happy, &--
A well maintained car will look good & run good for many years, plus you may get compliments on how good it looks, drives, & sounds!!...
Enjoy it when you drive it!!

What does any of this have to do with the topic at hand??.....

As to the OP, imo it won't do anything, if anything it might get worse, generally speakers are placed where they will reach you well. If you don't have enough volume, its cause you don't have good enough speakers, HU, amp or w/e. I had pioneer 6x9s and they were fine, stock speakers suck though. And I think someone actually had some ancient JBLs in mine, they sucked for the all of 2m of godsmack that they were able to handle.
So if you have stock, just get some nicer speakers, pioneers are good for the money if you aren't looking to spend big, as are their HUs, and sony HUs are decent, I imagine their speakers are also. If you are, rockford fosgate, kenwood, and infinity are said to be pretty good, and alpine is widely regarded as the best HU.

OP asked---
" Have any more tips for the low budget ride? "

Agreed, nothing to do with the speakers question, but he did ask for more tips.

Re: Speakers Angled in the Sail Panels?
No worries guys, I was looking for low budget audio tips though! Sorry for not being clear! Car currently has a new Sony BT2900 HU. It still uses junk speakers that were put in about 1998 or so. It had a Blauplunkt head unit and off brand amp, but I decided to decommission that equipment as it was old and seemed to have issues where it would cut out and such.

My car was originally equipped with the Bose system, but when I hooked that back up, only about half of the amps/speakers worked.

I'm not looking for crazy bass, but a nice clean sounding system without changing the look of the car or spending alot of money. Maybe sound like a system you could get in a new Camaro if that makes sense.
